Chertsey Ploughing Match

The ploughing match on Monday 30th August 2010 is an annual event organised by the Chertsey Agricultural Association which was founded in 1833.

The ploughing is split into several categories.

The heavy strips are the modern tractors. The narrow strips in front of the Marquee are the horse ploughing which can be seen more clearly in picture 2.

The ploughing match takes palce at Wey Manor farm at New Haw, Surrey.

All the criss cross lines give these photos a strange perspective but I can assure you the field is flat!

In picture 4 The British Anzani Iron Horse, built from 1940 to the mid 1950's are ploughing the narrower strips in the left block.
